My 5-Point Ranking Methodology

1. Current champ & recent fight history. How has the fighter done during his last 3-5 fights? Have they fought recently? Example: Fedor, Machida, Anderson Silva & GSP. When was the last time they lost?

2. Who has he beat? More importantly, who has he beat recently? Example: Anderson Silva & GSP. Both fighters have already beat the best in their division.

3. Who has he lost to? Again, recent fights are more important than old fights. Example: Forrest Griffin, although former champ, he has lost to Rashad, Jardine & Tito.

4. Overall record. I usually don't include fighters that haven't had 10 pro fights. Lesnar excluded. Example 1: Fedor. He has an overall record of 30-1! That matters. Example 2: Lesnar. He is only 4-1, but is the current UFC Heavyweight champ and has already beat Mir, Couture & Herring. Overall record not as important.

5. Shared opponents. How did 2 fighters do against a common opponent? Example: Shogun & Tito. Shogun has beat Chuck Liddell & Tito has lost to him twice.
